How (Not) to Speak of God

awake & linking: TSK & Peter Rollins discussion
We haven't been great at the upkeep on our "we're reading" section here ... and, therefore, it may seem we've been hiding the great fact that some of us have been reading Peter Rollins' book How (Not) to Speak of God. It is an engaging piece of postmodern theology - a well accepted, much needed voice in the emergent conversation. It's full of good, hard God thoughts, and some stories/application scenarios as well.

And, recently, TSK (back from his blog-fast) posted about an online conversation of the book. Apparently the author will be in on the conversation too. Looks very interesting!

Hey guys... I realize I'm not so much with the program, but I've started a great book I think you all would resonate with. It's called "In Praise of Slowness" by Honore. Check it out.

Shaun--It was great getting to meet you and exchange some thoughts tonight at the emergent gathering.

Here's (perhaps) an interesting question for you about the Rollins book, and something I've been wrestling with all week:

Recently, Wired Magazine featured this article on Richard Dawkins, a proponent of what he calls the "New Atheism." He was also interviewed this week on NPR.

I'm trying really hard to square this view with Rollin's take on a/theism, and (in the second half of the book) the thoughtful way Ikon incorporates those who deny and doubt the existence of God. Is there even room for both views?
